Looking for a fun family day out this January? Join us at Perrygrove Railway, near Coleford, for a steaming weekend of nostalgia, adventure, and farewell moments as we kick off the new season in style.

What to Look Forward To:

All Steam Locomotives in Action – Our entire home fleet of steam engines will be working hard throughout the weekend.
Double-Heading & Goods Trains – Enjoy a rare chance to see double-headed steam trains and historic goods train operations – perfect for railway fans of all ages.
A Special Send-Off for Anne – It’s your last chance to see our beloved purple engine Anne in steam before her boiler ticket expires. She’ll also be appearing in her iconic purple livery for the final time – a special moment before her transformation.
Cooked breakfast – for the first time ever, we’re going to be offering a cooked breakfast in our cafe!

Twilight Village – Step into our magical indoor world of miniature houses, secret tunnels, and hide-and-seek fun – a firm favourite in all seasons.
Treetop Adventure – Climb, slide, and scramble among the trees in this exciting outdoor play area.
Warren Adventure – A brilliant covered play area and a twisty tunnel maze with bubble windows – a great option whatever the weather
Woodland Walks – Explore a variety of woodland trails and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Den-Building Areas – Discover hidden spots in the woods perfect for building your very own dens and hideouts.

Perrygrove is dog-friendly and especially suited for families with younger children, with plenty of space to explore and play – indoors and out.

Warm Up at the Platform Café

Start your day with a cosy winter breakfast or brunch, served from 10am in our welcoming Platform Café. You’ll also find a selection of hot drinks, snacks and sweet treats throughout the day.

Whether you’re waving goodbye to a much-loved engine or introducing your little ones to the joy of steam, Perrygrove’s Winter Warm-Up is the perfect mix of heritage and hands-on fun.
